Természet Lányai / Daughters of Nature

“A Természet Lányai a Föld gyermekei. Puhán lépkednek a moha borította földön, suttognak a növényekkel, megsimogatják a fák törzseit, rákacsintanak a madarakra. Lábnyomukban virág nő és még a vadak is megszelídülnek közeledtükre.”

“Daughters of Nature are the children of the Earth. They walk softly on the moss-covered ground, whisper to the plants, caress the trunks of the trees, wink at the birds. Flowers grow in their footsteps and even the beasts are tamed by their approach.”

2025 első hónapjaiban megálmodtam, vagy inkább vizionáltam egy saját mintázású anyagból készült kapucnis felsőt, mindenféle lelógó rojtokkal, amik mellesleg sálként is használhatók. Persze nem értek a varráshoz, ezért április 9.-én megbeszéltem egy találkozót Antal Noémivel, Noyával, aki profi varrónő és büszkén elárulom, az új Dűne film első részében is dolgozott. Egy 70 literes hátizsákban elvittem hozzá az összes kapucnis pólómat, pulóveremet, kabátomat, hogy megértsem, mitől áll ívesen az egyik, és miért esik hullámosan össze a másik kapucnija. Noya elmagyarázta a nyakkör, a vállrész jelentőségét a kapucnirész tartásában, pauszpapírból még kis modelleket is készített. Kiderült, hogy elég sok anyag kell egy pulóverhez, főleg ha olyan hosszított, ami térdig ér. Ráadásul minden cipzár, gomb, patent tovább emeli a költségeket. És ha női és férfi változatot is szeretnék, akkor mindent kettővel kell szorozni. Nagyon hasznos találkozó volt, ezekkel az új ismeretekkel tértem haza.
Sokat gondolkodtam, hogyan lehetne a költségeket lent tartani, végül azt találtam ki, hogy elhagyom a pulóver részt, ami sok anyagból készülne és csak a kapucnis sálra, vagy sálas kapucnira fókuszálok, ami önálló ruhadarab lesz és egy hozzátoldható maszkot készítünk mellé.

In the first months of 2025, I dreamed, or rather visioned, a hooded top made of my own patterned fabric, with all kinds of hanging fringes that could also be used as a scarf. Of course, I don’t know how to sew, so on April 9, I made an appointment with Noemi Antal, Noya, who is a professional sewer and, I am proud to say, worked on the first part of the new Dune movie. I took all my hoodies, sweaters, and coats with me in a 70-liter backpack so that I could understand why one hood is curved and why the other hood falls in waves. Noya explained the importance of the neckline and shoulder area in holding the hood in place, and even made small models out of tracing paper. It turned out that you need quite a lot of fabric for a sweater, especially if it’s a long one that reaches the knee. What’s more, every zipper, button, and snap increases the cost. And if I want both a women’s and a men’s variant, I would have to multiply everything by two. It was a very useful meeting, and I returned home with this new knowledge.
I thought a lot about how to keep costs down, and finally decided to leave out the sweater part, which would require a lot of fabric, and focus only on the hooded scarf or scarfed hood, which will be a separate garment, and make an attachable mask to go with it.

Április, május folyamán sokat rajzolgattam, közben formálódott a forma, érlelődött az elnevezés, finomodott az elképzelés. Úgy döntöttem, csak a női változat készül elsőként. Lepedőből kivágtam a formát, minimális varrótudásommal összeférceltem, és a konyhában a hűtőn, papírtörlő fejjel próbálgattam. És még így is jól mutatott szerintem, én legalább is láttam már benne, amit megálmodtam.

During April and May, I drew a lot, and in the meantime, the shape took form, the name matured, and the idea became more refined. I decided to make the women’s variant first. I cut the shape out of a sheet, sewed it together with my minimal sewing skills, and tried it on the refrigerator in the kitchen with a paper towel head. And even so, I thought it looked good; at least I could already see in it what I had dreamed of.

Május 24.-én találkoztunk újra Noyával, vittem a lepedőből készült alapmintát, neki is tetszett az ötlet és a vonalvezetés is. Kis módosításokat végeztünk, megvastagítottuk a sálat, Noya kitalálta, hogy lehet a kapucni és a hátulján lévő “sárkányfarok” egy anyagrészből kiszabva. Felrajzolta a szabásmintát jelölésekkel, méretekkel és megkérdezte, hogy milyen anyagból fogjuk készíteni. Én nagyjából semmit nem tudtam a különböző textilekről, csak annyi elképzelésem volt, hogy természetes színeket és alapanyagot szeretnék. Ezért május 29.-én elmentünk egy nagy textilkereskedésbe, ahol megmutattak rengeteg féle anyagot, meg lehetett őket nézni, fogni, egy új világ nyílt számomra, de a duplagéz anyaga, struktúrája egyből megtetszett. Otthon átgondolva, elég egyértelmű érzésem támadt, hogy vegyszermentesen előállított alapanyag lenne jó, így végül az organikus duplagéz anyag lett a választás, ami puha és légáteresztő, környezet- és bőrbarát, valamint az is nyilvánvalóvá vált, hogy nem mintázom ezt az anyagot, mert ezzel a bordázottsággal önmagában is tökéletes. Első körben a zsengeboró szín volt a legszimpatikusabb, ami a drapp és a zöldes szín kellemes, természetes hatású keveréke. Csak azért írtam pontos dátumokat, hogy lássátok, milyen ütemben készítettük el, mert innentől felgyorsultak az események. Kiderült, hogy Noya sokat fog dolgozni, így nyártól nem fog ráérni.

On May 24, we met again with Noya. I brought the basic sample made from the sheet, and she liked the idea and the design too. We made some minor adjustments, thickened the scarf, and Noya figured out that the hood and the “dragon tail” at the back could be cut from a single piece of fabric. She drew the pattern with markings and measurements and asked what material we would use to make it. I knew almost nothing about different fabrics, I just had the idea that I wanted natural colors and materials. So, on May 29, we went to a large fabric store where they showed us lots of different fabrics. We could look at them and touch them, and a whole new world opened up for me, but I immediately liked the fabric and structure of the double gauze. After thinking it over at home, I had a pretty clear feeling that a chemical-free raw material would be good, so in the end, I chose organic double gauze, which is soft and breathable, environmentally and skin-friendly, and it also became clear that I would not be printing this fabric, because with its ribbed texture, it is perfect on its own. At first, I liked the color of the tender pea the most, which is a pleasant, natural mix of brown and green. I only wrote down the exact dates so you could see the pace at which we worked, because from this point on, things started to move quickly. It turned out that Noya will work a lot, so she wouldn’t be available from the summer onwards.

Június 3.-án megérkezett a rendelt anyag, 9.-én pedig Noya kiszabta duplagézből és megvarrta az első női kapucnis sálat, kitaláltuk a maszk pántjának bujtatós megoldását a kapucnihoz, és a maszk prototípusa is elkészült. Noya megmutatta, hogyan kell kiszabni egy anyagrészt ahhoz, hogy önmagában hullámosodjon egy kicsit. Már ez a levarrt szegélyű, visszafogott darab is lenyűgözött, csodás érzés volt látni, hogy Noya kezei alatt valósággá formálódik az álom.

The ordered material arrived on June 3, and on June 9, Noya cut it from double gauze and sewed the first women’s hooded scarf. We figured out a way to attach the mask strap to the hood, and the mask prototype was also completed. Noya showed me how to cut a piece of fabric so that it would wave a little on its own. Even this solid piece with it’s edges sewed down impressed me, and it was wonderful to see the dream take shape under Noya’s hands.

A vagány, lelógó rojtok viszont nekem hiányoztak, ezért eldöntöttük, hogy ez a változat is megmarad, de lesz vadabb verzió is. Június 13.-án kerek 9 órán keresztül alkottunk, képzeljétek, nem ettünk, nem ittunk, igazi alkotói lázban dolgoztunk, összerezonáltak az alkotói energiáink, kitaláltuk a vad változatot, a kis zsebek, lelógó rojtok helyét, Noya megmutatta, hogy lehet elérni, hogy a szegélyek rojtosak legyenek, de mégis minden le legyen varrva, hogy utána tovább már ne bomoljon. Végül, bár még minden biztosítótűvel volt a helyére illesztve, de elkészült a vad változat, legnagyobb örömömre.

However, I missed the cool, hanging fringes, so we decided to keep this version, but also make a wilder one. On June 13, we worked for nine hours straight. Imagine, we didn’t eat or drink, we worked in a real creative vibe, our creative energies resonated, we came up with the wild version, the location of the small pockets and hanging fringes. Noya showed me how to make the edges fringed, but still have everything sewn down so that it wouldn’t unravel later. Finally, although everything was still held in place with safety pins, the wild version was finished, much to my delight.

Miután eldőlt, hogy egyelőre csak női változatokat készítünk, az elnevezés ‘Daughters of Nature – Természet Lányai’ lett, így megterveztem a címkét és leadtam a rendelést prémium szövött, damaszt anyagból készült címkékre, 5×5 cm méretben. Június 20.-án finiseltük a vad változatot, plusz elkészítettük a kapucni harmadik változatát, ami átmenet lett a visszafogott és a vad között. A változatok nevei is megszülettek, SZOLÍD lett, aminél a széleket leszegtük, az átmenetes lett a SZELÍD, aminél a szegélyek rojtozottak, és a harmadik lett a BOHÉM, aminél pedig minden szegély rojtozott és plusz rojtokat is varrtunk rá a vadabb kinézetért.

Once it was decided that we would only be making women’s variants for the time being, the name became ‘Daughters of Nature’, so I designed the label and placed an order for premium woven damask labels measuring 5×5 cm. On June 20, we finished the wild version and also created a third variant of the hood, which was a transition between the solid and the wild. The names of the versions were also decided: the solid one was called SOLID, with the edges sewed down; the transitional one was called GENTLE, with fringed edges; and the wild one was called BOHEMIAN, with all edges fringed and extra fringes sewn on for a wilder look.

Június 22.-én kivittük a három kapucni változatot a Hajógyári-szigetre fotózni, hívtam a szépséges Petrát is, aki már modellkedett nekem korábban, tudtam, hogy neki jól fognak állni. Kerestünk három helyszínt, és ugyan nem sok időnk volt, de befotóztuk mind a három változatot, sőt, még kis videókat is készítettünk.

On June 22, we took the three hooded versions to Shipyard Island to take shots of them. I also called the beautiful Petra, who had modeled for me before, because I knew she would look adorable in them. We found three locations, and although we didn’t have much time, we photographed all three versions and even made some short videos.

A maszkot otthon újraterveztem, azt szerettem volna, ha nem csak egyszerű kiegészítő lenne, hanem szerves része az egésznek, és legalább olyan kitalált, mint az egész kapucnis sál. Ezért kis leszegett sávokat vagdostam ki és raktam rá a maszk prototípusára, hogy majd megmutassam Noyának az elképzelést, amitől máris sokkal jobban illeszkedett stílusban. Június 25.-én el is készítettük, Noya javaslatára több sávval, úgynevezett Pié varrási technikával még jobban nézett ki. A színválaszték háromra bővült, a zsengeborsó szín mellett a moha és a világos homokszín lett a választék.

I redesigned the mask at home, wanting it to be more than just a simple accessory, but an integral part of the whole, and at least as imaginative as the hooded scarf. So I cut out small sewed strips and tried them on the prototype of the mask, that I could show my idea to Noya, which immediately made it fit much better in terms of style. We finished it on June 25, and at Noya’s suggestion, we added more strips using a technique called Pié stitching, which made it look even better. The color selection was expanded to three: in addition to tender pea green, there was now moss green and light sand.

Július elején megérkeztek a címkék, fantasztikus kivitelben, viszont a szövési eljárás folyamán a kör a logoinkban elvetült egy kicsit, így enyhén oválisak lettek. Ezt nagy példányszámú, 1000 feletti rendelésnél előre letesztelik, viszont én csak százat rendeltem, de szerencsére megértő volt a cég, ezért újra legyártották. Azonban így már az első vásárra már nem készültek el, ezért az első kapucnikra sem kerültek rá,, pedig gyönyörű minőségűek lettek. Közben Noya varrta a mintadarabokat a moha és a világos homokszínű anyagokból, én pedig készítettem a szövegeket, fotókat, videókat a posztokhoz a közösségi oldalakra, hogy a július végi vásárra már legyen egy kis híre.

The labels arrived at the beginning of July, and they looked fantastic, but during the weaving process, the circle in our logos became slightly distorted, making them slightly oval. This is tested in advance for large orders of over 1,000, but I only ordered a hundred. Fortunately, the company was understanding and remade them. However, this meant that they were not ready for the first market, so they did not make it onto the first hoodies, even though they were of beautiful quality. In the meantime, Noya sewed the samples from the moss green and light sand-colored fabrics, and I prepared the texts, photos, and videos for the posts on social media so that there would be some publicity for the market at the end of July.

Július 20.-án, a Tribal Market – Nirwana nyári, kézműves vásárában debütált a ‘Daughters of Nature – Természet Lányai’ kollekció, ami a Dürer Kertben került megrendezésre. Mind a három színből és mind a három változatból volt mintadarab, bár Noya még aznap reggel varrta a homokszínű verziót, de végül elkészült és úgy hozta ki a vásárra. Azt terveztük, hogy csak előrendeléseket veszünk fel a vásár folyamán, de a közeli Ozora fesztivál miatt és mert nagyon kedvesen kérték, végül adtunk is el a mintadarabokból és még rendelést is vettünk fel.

On July 20, the ‘Daughters of Nature’ collection debuted at the Tribal Market – Nirwana summer craft fair, which was held in Dürer Garden. There were samples of all three colors and all three versions, although Noya sewed the light sand-colored variant that morning, but it was finally finished and brought to the fair. We planned to only take pre-orders during the fair, but because of the nearby Ozora festival and because girls asked so nicely, we ended up selling from the samples and even took orders.

A kedves Ada is a vásárban rendelt a világos homokszínű, Bohém változatból, és megkértem, hogy amikor elkészül, készítsünk pár fényképet is. Noya villámgyorsan megvarrta, így amikor találkoztunk Adával, a kedvenc utcájában egész sorozatot fotóztam róla.

The lovely Ada also ordered the light sand-colored Bohemian version at the fair, and I asked her to take some photos when it was ready. Noya sewed it up in no time, so when we met Ada, I took a whole series of photos of her on her favorite street.

Nyár végén küldte el a csodálatos Eszter a fesztiválon róla készült fantasztikus fotókat, egészen autentikus környezetben, élénk színekkel. Ő is világos homokszínt választott, de ő a Szolíd, levarrt szegélyű változatot.

At the end of summer, the wonderful Eszter sent me some fantastic photos of her taken at the festival, in a completely authentic setting, with vivid colors. She also chose light sand color, but she chose the Solid version with stitched edges.
