Sweet Dreams Álomfogó / Sweet Dreams Dreamcatcher

A Természet nagy barátja vagyok, minden élőlény tisztelője. Kirándulásaim során sok tollat találtam már, és egyszer eszembe jutott, hogy jó lenne készíteni belőlük egy nagy álomfogót. Kicsit utánaolvastam, hogyan is csinálták az indiánok, mi is volt a szerepe az életükben. Az észak-amerikai Ojibwe törzs kezdte el készíteni és az ágy fölé helyezni védelemként. A rossz álmokat kiszűri és csak a szép álmok jutnak át rajta. A rosszak fennakadnak a szövött, vagy hálós részen, de a jó álmok a kis nyílásokon átjuthatnak. Díszítésnek csak természetes anyagokat használtak. Ebből indultam ki, úgyhogy én sem ragasztottam semmit, minden csak madzaggal van csomózva. Minden tollat találtam, párat Klaudia unokatestvérem talált, a fehérek pedig Barbara húgom házi kedvencként tartott 2 libájának önkéntes adományai. Számomra fontos volt, hogy teljesen erőszakmentes legyen, ebbe még az sem fért bele, hogy egy toll olyan állattartásból származzon, ahol étkezési vagy kereskedelmi céllal tartják az állatokat. Került rá barna réti héja, hamvas réti héja, kabasólyom, zöldküllő, harkály és libatoll.

I am a great friend of Nature, I respect all living things. I have found many feathers during my trips, and once it occurred to me that it would be nice to make a big dream catcher out of them. I did some research on how the Native Americans made them and what their role was in their lives. The Ojibwe tribe of North America started making them and putting them over the bed for protection. It filters out the bad dreams and only the good ones get through. The bad ones get caught in the woven or mesh part, but the good dreams can get through the small holes. They used only natural materials for decoration. That was my starting point, so I didn’t glue anything either, everything is just knotted with string. I found all the feathers in the nature, some were found by my cousin Klaudia, and the white ones are voluntary donations from my sister Barbara’s 2 pet geese. It was important to me that it was completely non-violent, and that didn’t even include a feather from a farm where animals are kept for food or commercial purposes. I have used hawks, falcons, woodpeckers and goose feathers.

Bár az Ojibwe indiánok nádból hajlították, én a köröket ágakból hajlítottam, a szomszéd utcában sövényt ritkítottak, én pedig elhoztam a hosszabb sövényágakat, kör alakban összefontam őket, majd sok-sok madzaggal körbetekertem, így nem ugrott szét. A vízszintes, kisebb körök nádfonatok, én ilyen kicsiket nem tudtam az ágakból hajlítani, úgyhogy ezeket a kézműves boltban vettem, majd ezeket is körbetekertem madzaggal. A fagolyókat, amikben a tollak vannak, szintén ott vettem. A madzaghúrokat elég sokáig tartott kivitelezni, mert ha az egyiket túl feszesre húztam, a mellette levők fellazultak, szóval figyelni kellett, hogy ne legyen se túl feszes, se túl laza. Ahogy Buddha tanította.

Although the members of the Ojibwe tribe bent it from reeds, I bent the circles from branches, the next street over was thinning hedges, and I took the longer hedge branches, wove them into a circle, and wrapped them with lots of ropes so they wouldn’t split. The horizontal, smaller circles are reed weaves, I couldn’t bend the branches into such small ones, so I bought these from the craft shop and wrapped them around with string. I also bought the wooden balls there. The rope strings took quite a while to make because if I pulled one too tight, the ones next to it would loosen, so I had to be careful not to make them too tight or too loose. As Buddha taught us.

Hogy az álomfogó energiái még tisztábbak legyenek, Medru Dani barátom révén, aki világjáró lévén sok exotikus helyen jár, egy tenyérnyi hegyikristály csúcsot még rámakraméztam a felső részre, és egy mexikói, kisebb, nyers kyanit csúcs is felkerült alá, így egyensúlyba került az egész alkotás.

To make the energies of the dreamcatcher even clearer, through my friend Dani Medru, who is a world traveller and goes to many exotic places, I added a palm-sized quartz crystal peak on top, and a smaller raw kyanite peak from Mexico underneath, balancing the whole creation.

2023 nyarán készült el teljesen, amikor már épp javában szerveztük az augusztusi Zengető fesztivált, ahol tag vagyok és baráti közösségben kultúrális és zenei programokat szervezünk. Nem erre az eseményre készítettem az álomfogót, de arra gondoltam, hogy elviszem erre a szabadtéri rendezvényre és a kemping részhez fellógatjuk valamelyik fára, hogy a pihenőknek nyugodt alvást, szép álmokat hozzon.

It was fully completed in the summer of 2023, when we were in the midst of organising the Zengeto Festival, where I am a member and we organise cultural and musical events in a community of friends. I didn’t make the dreamcatcher for this event, but I thought of taking it to this outdoor event and hanging it on a tree near the camping area to bring restful sleep and sweet dreams to the resting people.

De végül úgy alakult, hogy az álomfogó felkerült az élőzenés színpadunkra dekorációként. Így nagy boldogságomra olyan tehetséges fellépőknek volt a háttere, mint Diznaray, Sauropoda, Novan & Salana, Sajba, The Acoustic Manual Techno Party & Busa Pista, Earth Jam. Jó érzés volt ezt látni, megélni.

But it turned out that the dreamcatcher was added to our live music stage as a decoration.
So to my great happiness it was the background for talented acts like Diznaray, Sauropoda, Novan & Salana, Sajba, The Acoustic Manual Techno Party & Busa Pista, Earth Jam. It was a great feeling to see it, to live it.

A fesztivál végén, amikor már bontottunk mindent, egy nagyon megható dolog történt, Klau és Roli, akik Zengetős tagok és barátok, elkérték az álomfogót az őszi esküvőjükre, hogy díszítésként használják. Ahogy a képeken is látszik, nagyon szép volt a szertartás, egy 250 éves, védett tölgyfáról lógott az álomfogó, így esküdtek hűséget egymásnak kedves barátaim. Őszintén szólva, úgy terveztem, hogy az esküvő másnapján hazaviszem magammal az álomfogót. De több jel arra mutatott, hogy már új otthont talált magának, adódott egy kis szállítási nehézség is, de ami eldöntötte, hogy marad, az az volt, hogy hatalmas eső volt reggel, én pedig aggódva hívtam a párt, hogy ha tudják, vigyék be az álomfogót, mert eláznak a tollak. Ők viszont már az eső előtt bevitték, ebből láttam, hogy már jobban vigyáznak rá, mint én, így végül ez lett a nászajándékuk.

At the end of the festival, when we had packed up everything, a very touching thing happened, Klau and Roli, who are my friends and members of the Zengeto, asked for the dreamcatcher to be used as a decoration for their autumn wedding. As you can see from the pictures, it was a very beautiful ceremony, the dreamcatcher was hanging from a 250 year old protected oak tree, my dear friends swore their love to each other under it. Honestly, I had planned to take the dreamcatcher home with me the next day of the wedding. But there were several signs that it had already found a new home, there was a bit of a transport problem, but what decided it would stay was that it was raining heavily in the morning and I was anxiously calling the couple to see if they could bring the dreamcatcher in because the feathers were getting wet. But they brought it in before the rain came, and I could see that they were taking better care of it than I was, so it ended up being their wedding present.

Az esküvőn volt egy nagyon profi fotós, Varga Attila, aki rólam pont azt a pillanatot kapta el, amikor arra sétálva, büszkén nézek fel az alkotásomra.

There was a very professional photographer at the wedding, Attila Varga, who captured the exact moment of me walking by, proudly looking up at my creation.
